The High Commission provides notary and authentication services for official documents issued by the Government of Maldives. Documents which are not issued by the Maldivian government that requires High Commission’s notarization must be notarized by a Public Notary before submission to the High Commission for processing.
At least 3 working days are required for notary and authentication services where verification is required from external authorities. The High Commission does not charge any fee for this service.
Services related to marriage registration in Maldives
For Maldivian citizens who have married in Bangladesh and wish to register their marriage in the Maldives, the following steps are required:
- Have your marriage certificates notarized by a public notary in Bangladesh.
- Obtain authentication from the Bangladesh Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
- Obtain authentication from the Consular & Welfare Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.
- Submit the authenticated documents to the Maldives High Commission for final authentication.
- Once you have the High Commission's authentication, proceed to contact the Family Court in the Maldives directly for registration.

Services related to registering a birth of Maldivian citizen
