High Commissioner of Maldives to Bangladesh, Her Excellency Shiuneen Rasheed, attended as Chief Guest at the inauguration of the “Amar Rokkhok Ami, Ami Ananna” workshop, jointly organised by the Women’s Federation for World Peace Bangladesh (WFWP BD) and Fresh Ananna at the University of Asia Pacific in Dhaka.
The workshop brought together female university students for an intensive programme covering banking, healthcare, and self-defence. The initiative aimed to equip participants with practical skills to promote self-empowerment, financial independence, and personal safety.
In her remarks, the High Commissioner congratulated the Women’s Federation for World Peace Bangladesh, the University of Asia Pacific, and Fresh Ananna for their efforts in organising such a meaningful initiative. She commended their dedication to empowering young women and girls and expressed appreciation for their commitment to building safer and more equitable communities.
Describing the workshop as “the beginning of something bigger,” she encouraged participants to share their knowledge with friends, communities, and families. She concluded with a strong call to action: “Women’s safety, aspirations, and ambitions must always come first.”
